The false ceiling is made from rectangular sheets with their long sides parallel to the width of the room, and suspended from parallel joists supported on the heads of the wall panels. Any individual sheet may be removed without disturbing the remainder. Members (2) of an inverted winged 'U' section, cover the top of the wall panels (1). The wings or flanges (3) cantilever horizontally to form a seat for the joists (4). The joists are of a 'U' section with legs (6) which are doubled over, and terminate in a trough formation (7). The panels (8) have vertical upstanding flanges (9) which hook over (10) to engage the trough formations (7).
