Travelling dolly for opening and reloading tyre moulds - with inter-locked clamp guides to facilitate automatic control

Tyre vulcanisation system has a series of tyre moulds in a row which are automatically opened, unloaded, reloaded and closed by a travelling carriage fitted with claws for releasing and lifting the upper mould halves from bayonet fitting clamps and moving the mould tops aside to allow other claws to unload and reload the base moulds. The mechanical linkages are such that the mould covers are removed by solitary action of the first set of claws but that the refitting of the mould tops is aligned and operated in conjunction with the action of the second set of jaws after they have reloaded the mould with a prefabricated, uncured carcass. Both jaw systems progress together along the series of mould tools. Design minimises the number of independent controls involved in positioning the grabs laterally and vertically, simplifying automation of the equipment.
