ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA housing in a vacuum cleaner is subdivided into afirst space and a separate second space which does not communicatewith the first space but is in heat-exchanging relationship withthe first space. An impeller is located in the second space forsucking dust-laden air into one end of the second space and dis-charging it out the other. The drive motor for the impeller meansis located in the first space. Thus, the drive means is not contact-ed by the dust-laden air passing through the second space but isnevertheless cooled by such dust-laden air.
