Abstract of the Disclosure:A process for the simultaneous obtention of insulin andpancreatin from fresh or lyophilised swine pancreata by theextraction of the glands using for the extraction a reactionmixture containing 40% of acetone at least and extracting ata pH of about 5 to 7, separating the solid from the extractedsubstance to obtain insulin in a manner known per adjust-ing the solid instantly with a buffer to a pH above 5.6 afterits separation from the extraction mixture and processing thesolid to pancreatin in a manner known per se.
