MACHINE FOR PROCESSING MERCHANDISINGTICKETS IN BOTH ROLL AND INDIVIDUAL FORMAbstract of the DisclosureA machine for processing merchandisingtickets each having a magnetizable surface strip and aline for receiving printing. The tickets may be inindividual form carried by a hopper or in roll formcarried by a supply reel. The machine defines a mainpath having a magnetic encoding head for encoding infor-mation on the magnetic strip of a ticket, a read headfor checking the information encoded on the strip and aprinter for printing on the print line of a ticket. Themachine further defines supply paths connecting the supplyreel and hopper with the main path. The machine includesa stacker and a take-up reel and defines paths connectingthe main path with both the stacker and the take-up reel.A discard chute and a delivery path for a length of con-nected tickets are also provided by the machine, andselectively operable swingable deflectors are providedfor selectively directing the tickets to this deliverypath or to the discard chute. The machine also includesa burster mechanism for separating the tickets in connectedform into discrete lengths.
