ICE STUD FOR SNOWMOBILE TRACKS AND METHODABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA one-piece stud for an endless snowmobile drivetrack includes a hub having a sidewall that extends peri-metrically about the longitudinal axis of the stud, thehub being adapted to be secured to the drive track, therebymounting the stud on the drive track. A number of peri-metrically disposed, ground engaging projections are formedintegral with the sidewall and diverge from each other in adirection away from the sidewall, these projections extend-ing radially outwardly from the sidewall at an acute angleto both the sidewall and the longitudinal axis of the stud.The stud is made in a series of steps including bending aportion of a star-shaped blank out of the plane of the blankto form curvilinear teeth and then bending part of thepreviously bent portion in an opposite direction to form amounting hub.
