The assembly uses auxiliary air chambers fitted on the wheel surface in order to automatically make up lost pressure when the tyre is damaged. The face of the wheel is fitted with an auxiliary air chamber (3) designed either as a continuous hollow ring or a ring radially subdivided into several chambers. - The chamber is supplied with compressed air through a valve (9) up to a certain pressure at the same time as the tyre is inflated. The chamber and the air space of the tyre (4) are in communication through a valve (5) which is designed as a whistle. - When pressure in the tyre drops below the pressure in the air chamber, air flows from the chamber into the tyre causing a whistling signal which warns the driver that the tyre is losing pressure due to damage.
