Breathing testing appts. for making Tiffeneau test - uses pneumatic switching gates, integrator, RC member and divider

The instrument for carrying out tests of the breathing of a patient, also makes the 'Tiffeneau test'. At the input of the instrument is a resistance to the breathing, connected to a pneumatic amplifier and pneumatic integrator, the output being connected to a suitable indicating instrument. This output is also fed to a pneumatic gate forming part of a time basis switching circuit. - The output of the pneumatic amplifier is also connected to another indicating instrument and also to a further pneumatic gate. This is connected to pneumatic amplifier and a resistance capacity member forming a parallel path to the path between the integrator and first gate. Both paths are connected to two inputs of a divider with its output connected to a third indicating instrument.
