The compression system is for transformer windings. It applies an axial compression force to the coaxial layers and/or coils of transformer limbs using a single press. The layers are subjected to preliminary compression commensurate with the highest short circuit current. This compression is applied so that each layer receives the same specific pressure. Part of the interlayer filling can be removed to allow the winding to be fitted under different compressive forces.
