1404076 Electro-deposition of glass particles MITSUBISHI DENKI K K 1 March 1973 [2 March 1972] 9995/73 Heading C7B Glass particles are deposited on an object by disposing the object in a suspension of the particles and applying a D.C. voltage between the object and a counter-electrode also disposed in the suspension. The suspension has the property that the particles are electrically charged and the object is connected so as to have a charge of opposite polarity. The suspending liquid may be formed of an organic solvent to which the particles are lyophobic, e.g. ethyl acetate, butyl acetate or acetone, and an organic solvent to which the particles are lyophilic, e.g. methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol. The field strength between the object and the counter-electrode is preferably 100-500 volts per centimetre. Parts of the surface of the object may be mashed before the treatment. After treatment the glass coating is heated to fuse the particles and bond them to the object.
