Kitchen utensil for preparing salads - cuts fruit and vegetables to attractive shapes for decorating salads

The utensil has two arms joined by hinges and houses a hairpin spring in longitudinal recesses near the hinge. The lower arm terminates in a small bowl in which e.g. a radish may be placed and sliced by the blade. The upper arm is provided wih a number of radial blades which form spokes inside a rim. when the two arms are brought together the fruit or vegetable placed in the bowl is cut into triangular sectors. The tip of the upper arm is formed into a triangular cutting edge which co-operates with a matching edge on the lower arm to cut the skin or piece of fruit, to a zig-zag pattern.
