The tool is used on a rapid cycle stamping machine producing curved elements by bending straight lengths of hollow or angled steel sections etc. against robust curved templates. Constituent opposed clamping members, longitudinally mobile with respect to each other have mating faces shaped to house the workpiece in section with slight curvature orientated tolerance. A standard system apply pressure via a thrust plate and counter blocks. Preferred arrangements include either a direct bearing curved thrust member or interposed curved templates bolted etc. to the workpiece to prevent lateral slip.
