Brushless DC motor with inductive commutation - has multi-phase stator winding and permanent magnet rotor

The motor circuit has a switch network via which at least one phase of the stator winding can be controlled, to bring the rotor to its rest position, and via which one phase of the stator winding can be controlled for a selected time duration, to bring the rotor up to the required running speed. Pref. the stator winding is connected to an amplifier stage via a commutating circuit, providing control signals for the amplifier stage in dependence on signals supplied from the switch network and on induced voltage signals dependent on the rotation of the rotor. The commutating circuit pref. employs a differential amplifier stage for each stator phase winding.
