Electrode holder which supports consumable electrodes - used in electroslag remelting furnace for supplying power to the electrodes

Electrode holder comprises a support plate with through holes, the number of holes corresponding to the number of consumable electrodes. The support plate is made from two parts electrically insulated from one another. Each part of the support plate has at least two holes of a slope necessary for fastening the inventory heads of the consumable electrodes. The other holes are used for passing the consumable electrodes. The part of the support plate are arranged above each other in such a way that the through holes of one of the parts of the support plate used for fastening the inventory heads are located coaxially in front of the through holes in the other part of the support plate through which the electrodes pass. Each part of the support plate is made of conductive material and is connected to a corresponding lead of power supply source so that current is fed to the consumable electrodes. The consumable electrodes are easily replaced and are arranged along the circumference as proximate as possible to each other ensuring uniform heating of the slag bath and uniform melting of the consumable electrodes.
