Sodium percarbonate particles comprise a core of sodium percarborate coated with dehydrated sodium perborate (corresp. to formula NaBO2H2O2.3H2O). they are prepd. by moistening sodium percarbonate particles with water and coating with dehydrated sodium perborate. Sodium percarbonate is used as a bleaching agent alone or in washing compsns. It has the advantage of a higher active oxygen content and better solubility at 20 degrees C compared with sodium perborate. The prod. is relatively stable in a warm humid atmos. and at the same time preserves the rate at which it dissolved.
