The pressure gauge is based on a measuring spring body with a curved base surface. the measuring body (1) is constrained within a housing (2) on which its curved base (4) rests. A hole of depth h is bored in the body. A peg, which also has a curved base is held in this hole. The measuring body is constrained by a horizontal membrance (6) clamped between the housing and its lid (7). An axial force P urges the measuring body against the housing. Cross forces Q cause a deflection of the measuring body which is monitored by strain gauges.
