A louvre-type solar collector comprises a number of inclined blades through which a piping system containing the heat-transporting fluid passes, the blades being welded in the pipe. At the inner edge, i.e., the edge removed from the incident sunlight, each blade is curved towards its neighbour thus virtually closing the gap between them and forming a pocket in which the solar energy is trapped.
