In the hf transmission cable, the interference occurs at regular distances caused by the spacer discs along the length of the cable. The regularity of the interference produces reflections which are additive. The coaxial cable is designed so as to introduce a deviation from the average distance between the interference points. The deviation is a periodic function of a given amplitude. The multiple integral of the function among the coordinates has an upper limit. The periodicity is equivalent to that of a triangular function, or a rectangular function or a trapezoidal function, the period of which corresponds to that of the distance between the spacers.
