The static inverter, for converting a dc voltage into voltages of alternating polarity, consists of an input filter (ES) connecting the dc source to the primary power switches (T1/D1, T2/D2) whose outputs are connected to a transformer's primary. The transformer's secondary is coupled via two secondary power switches (T3/D3, T4/D4), one for each halfwave, to the output filter (AS) which is coupled to the load (L). The transformer has two primaries, one for each halfwave, each of which is in series with one of the primary switches.
