The signal is the output of an element or system which can be determined by its frequency response. Its input voltage is sinusoidal, and the measurement serves for the frequency response determination. A dc voltage (Ugx) derived from the output variable (Ua) by its sampling at instants of peak values of the input voltage (Ue) is used as the real component. It is stored until next sample is taken. A dc voltage (Ugy) serving as the imaginary component is similarly derived by sampling the output variable at instants of the input voltage (Ue) zero crossings. It is also stored until the next similar sampling.
