The seams of the car seat squab have material loops (10) sewn onto the reverse with the ends of the loops threaded over a metal fitting loop (12). The ends of the latter are hooked into retaining clips (16) as part of the seat support frame on the floor of the vehicle. The retaining clips have ratchet keyhole fittings so that the squab support is rapidly fitted without special tools. The loops pull the squab into shape without requiring expensive piping.
