The roller guide opening (13) for the loose traction cable of a monorail conveyor, suitable for mining. The two rollers (5, 6) mounted on parallel axles (7, 8) form an opening (13) through which the cable passes. The rollers are mounted on a common (10) or individual supports, and the supports move lateral cable guides (P). The arrangement gives the assembly versatility in accommodating changes in direction of the cable. The guides (P) stand out from the supports, face the interior of the opening, may face the centre (17) of the opening (13), and may take the form of plates with a concave edge. The concavity may be a concave shallow symmetrical 'V', and the plates are installed with the concavities giving lateral definition to the opening. The plates may be welded onto the supports (10) and project with the apices of the concavities lying on the centre line (17) of the window (13).
