A plane electrooptical coordinate system is used for the space point coordinates determination. The point of intersection of axes of three light beams, at constant angles to each other, is identical with the point in space to be measured. The space point coordinates are calculated by a directly coupled electronic computer from the position of light spots produced by the three light beams on the plane coordinate system. A first approximate solution for the coordinates can be obtained using a separate measurement process. One of the three light beams is used as a guiding beam in the feed-back path of a control circuit, so that the direction of all three lights beams are so controlled, that their spots always fall on the coordinate system for any position of the space point within the measurement volume. A rotating mirror drive (23) is used for azimuth adjustment.
