Appts. identifies and classifies several peaks in central position location within a directional frame using a device for acquiring directional angle values has a directional aerial and receiver, a Hilbert transformer, a-d converter, angle processor, digital store, evaluation processors, and a display. It automatically derives from directional angles characteristic incidence times, signal durations, pulse widths, and average pulse intervals enabling transmitter location. Directional values acquired during a known time interval are stored as instantaneous angle values in an evaluation processor store and classified according to their characteristics.
