The method involves determining signal characteristics (SC1,SC2) of the radio network (FN) at positions (P1,P2) by a mobile end device. An information is derived from the signal characteristics over these positions. Multiple probable current positions are determined from the signal characteristic at a time point. Probabilities for the current positions are derived from temporally adjacent position determinations. The probable positions are specified as current position.
