The fuse has an insulating body surrounding the fuse conductor. There is a cover plate at each end, through which a contact blade passes to engage outside contact elements. The covers (2, 3) have edges (12, 13) overlapping the ends (8, 9) of the insulating body (1) to provide a strong structure. These joints are so made that a firm, screwless connection is provided between the covers (2, 3) and the body (1). Projections (10) on the insulating body snap into place in grooves in the overlapping portions of the ends (8, 9).
