The road surface layer is heated to workable temperature and its plasticised material is evenly distributed and then built up again. The covering layer is first pre-heated to just below workable temperature, and in a second heating process it is heated to working temperature. The plastics material is then loosened with an elastic rake, and pre-distributed. It may then be heated again in a further process.
