In the telephone exchange equipment, stepping down elements are provided for the control of counting pulses. The stepping down stage is in the form of an electronic counter with a number of outputs, and the clock pulses are applied so that the pulse train between the first and second and further pulses is no different. The charge zones or other charge criteria are achieved either by connection of a corresponding pulse train, with switches at the same output, and/or by the use of the same pulse train and switching the counter to a corresp. output.
