Computer aided microwave filter tuning - calculating actual component values from measured functions and comparing with required values

Filter two-pole and/or four-pole functions are measured at different frequencies, and the measured functions are used as adjustment criteria using a computer. Measured values of the selected filter function are applied to the computer which determines the faulty filter circuit component values and their corrections. Then individual components re consecutively adjusted, with the computer simulating the filter function as it should be after this component adjustment, and after other earlier adjustments. This is done by reducing the difference between the actual function value and its nominal value to within a specified limit.
