The cable consists of two insulating ropes running over the whole cable length, and of an insulating elastic sheath over the ropes. In the rest state of the cable a clearance exists between the sheath and the ropes, C-shaped, bare metal clamps (8, 9) are placed on the ropes at a distance from each other. The two ropes (6, 7) are so placed in the cable (1), that the clamps are in contact with each other over the whole cable length. The sheath (10) has an insulating rib (11) running over the whole cable length which under load is pressed between the two ropes or the metal clamps in contact with each other.
