Caster wheel for a (push)chair has a load-bearing component for =1 wheel, at which there is =1 brake shoe bearing on the wheel when a load is removed from the chair. The axle of the wheel fits into the bore of a rocker arm moving against elastic force w.r.t. the load- bearing component. The rocker arm carrying the axle has a wing extending outward in the running direction of the wheel and bearing upon the load- bearing component. The rocket arm is springy and the wheel can be lifted off the braking surface (sic) only against the elastic force of the rocker arm. The caster wheel is of relatively simple construction. It is efficiently braked and its rolling motion blocked when a load is taken off the chair, which positions it in a higher position.
