The sheet-metal bend is in one or more pieces, for fixing pipe insulation. It has two overlapping edges running along a centre line. One edge has a stiffening rib and there are bolt holes in line with each other in the overlapping position. A rib is formed in each overlapping edge, protruding above the outside of the bend wall. The ribs can have the same cross-section, and flat flanks inclined to each other, fitting positively one inside the other in the assembled position. The bolt holes can be in the centre of the rib cross-sections.
