Static electric charge discharging appts. which is inexpensive and dispenses with an ioniser device which is prone to frequent breakdowns due to foreign matter deposition, comprises a horizontal bar with dependent axially spaced chains attached to the upper part of oscillated frame which lays a textile web fabric in folds on a pallet. Bar and chains are made of electrically conductive material and connected to earth and the fabric is made of man made and natural fibres. Intermittent contacting of the fabric which is achieved by the nature of the laying appts. produces optimal charge discharging results.
