Appts. for thermoplastic deformation of a heated plastics foil to produce snap-on covers or dished articles has an upper die member movable relative to a lower die member, composed of two vertically movable partS, the die member part being provided with chambers which when filled with compressed air eject the deformed cover. Between the die member parts which are movable relative to one another there is arranged an elastomeric conveyor which is in contact with the part when the die is closed and out of contact when the die is open.
