摘要
H2S is removed from gas streams and recovered as elemental S. The gas stream contains only a small amt. of H2S and a small amt. of a gaseous oxidising agent also contg. S. The O2 is there in the quantity corresponding to the stoichiometric quantity necessary to oxidise the H2S completely, the process taking 30 days. The feed gas is at a temp. 121-232 degrees C and a space velocity of 250-2000 vol/vol/hr. It is brought into contact with a catalyst of Va oxide or sulphide on a non-alkaline, porous, refractory oxide (Al2O3). This catalyst retains its activity over a period of 30 days. The catalyst causes the formation of elemental sulphur which is subsequently sepd and a pure product gas is left.
