Shaft penetration seal in wall - has ridged sealing ring contacting race of different contact face inclination

The shaft penetration seal in a wall has an axially preloaded sealing ring. The latter is loaded against a race held firmly on the wall. The stable sealing rings used are able to move relative to each other. The sealing ring (1) has a number of circumferential sealing ridges (12, 13, 14). These ridges are in contact with the race (11). The ridges are on a straight line (15) whose inclination deviates from that of the race inner face (16) inclination. Only one ridge acts as a sealing ridge. Other ridges act as splashing rings.
