The corner lock is used on a container spreader frame and has a pin rotated through a quarter circle for locking into a container corner fitting. The rotating pin (3) of the lock can be moved axially upwards to a limited extent against the spring force. The pin (3) is guided by a sleeve (2) on the frame. The lock has dished spring assembly (6) for damping around the sleeve. The pin itself rests against helical spring (12) which is compressed on collision.
