The plastics screen for coating the surface has a mesh width of 35-80 microns pref. 63-73 microns. The microcapsules are in the size range of 4-25 microns pref. 12-18 microns. The paper web to which the coating is applied can be treated on both sides and dried in a conventional manner. The microcapsules dispersion contains in dissolved or suspended form a binding agent and/or a film-forming coating material. The dispersion pref. contains a filler and/or protective substances.
