Prestressed concrete tension bar reinforced with glass fibre rod - with cured resin binder having unaligned glass fibres to take up internal stresses

Prestressed concrete tension bar is reinforced with a glass fibre rod bound with plastics, the rod being surrounded, at least at its ends, with unaligned short glass fibres which are mixed with the concrete around the rod, to take up internal transverse and longitudinal stresses in the rod. An unsaponifiable resin dispersion, e.g. of acrylic esters is also added, at least at the ends of the rod. Several rods are used in the tension bar. Steel inserts are unnecessary.
