Pharmaceuticals contg. aryl- and/or aryloxy-alkanolamine derivs. - with fatty alcohol mono:sulphate surfactant, useful as beta-blockers and antiarrhythmic agents

New pharmaceutical compsns. compromise mixts. of (a) one or more active ingredients selected from arylalkanol-amine and/or aryloxyalkanolamine derivs. and (b) one or more surfactants selected from higher fatty alcohol monosulphate esters. The compsns. are useful as cardioactive and circulatory medicaments, esp. beta-blockers and antiarrhythmic agents. Incorporation of component (b) improves the enteral resorption of (a). Pref. components (a) include 4-(2-hydroxy-3-isopropylaminopropoxy)indole (pindolol) and 4-(2-hydroxy-3-isopropylaminopropoxy)-2-methylindole. Prefd. surfactants are those with an HLB of 35-45 and a critical micelle concn. of 10-2-10-3, esp. Na lauryl monosulphate.
