Cable trunk has a common sheathing for the cable strands which comprises a thermoplastics sheet longitudinally welded along =1 seam. The film is a shrinkable film and surrounds the strands only loosely. The sheathing is provided at the trunk and any branchings of a cable. Specifically, two films with two longitudinal seams are used for each strand or trunk. The sheathing is made from film strips which have guidance beads along their longitudinal edges.
