After application of force at the ends, the elements are connected so that normal force components are removed. The remaining bending moments act as bar-shape, flat or three-dimensional structures, to stabilise the stress forces. The bend moments transfer deformation to provide resistance and reduce sag in the building structure as a function of load introduction. Stress anchors can be used for simultaneous introduction of tensile and compressive forces into the structural elements.
