Plastics-insulated, single- or multi-core electric line has a thermoplastics tubular mantle surrounding the core(s). The mantle is provided with a thin polyurethane coating, but itself consists of PVC. The line is suitable for outdoor applications e.g. with lawn-mowers, is flame- and oil-resistant, flexible even at relatively low temps. and has good abrasion-resistance. Its mfr. is less expensive than similar prods. where polychloroprene is used. The polyurethane coating makes up for the shortcomings of the PVC in comparison with the polychloroprene.
