A stroker pin in a housing unit transfers striking impulses to the housing as it moves to and fro under compressed-air action; at the rear it has an open hollow with cross holes regularly covered as it passes through a double-stepped slide socket connected to the air duct. The socket comprises two axially offset two-stepped halves. Socket and pin are mutually adjustable by a turning device. In one position the first socket half is sited in the area of the cross holes confined to one half of the striker; in the other position the second half is sited in the area of cross holes during striker pin movement. This enables reversal of striking direction to be effected by simple means.
