In housing (GE4) of linear stepping motor is fitted with longitudinally slidable adjuster element (STE) and sensor module, consisting of first sensor element (SE1) on adjuster element and second sensor element (SE2) fixed to motor housing. Thus, position of adjuster element can be determined from relative motion of the two sensor elements. First sensor element includes permanent magnet and second sensor element Hall sensor. Sensor module transmits output signal which, on passing defined point of path of adjusting element, switches over between two signal values.
