The monostable electrical contact is for use on a portable tool. There is a spring between the contact arm and the actuator element (1) has two transverse slits (3, 4) on the pin-shaped inner end. One end of the spring is directly supported in the slit and held in position by a side projection(14). An additional spring (16) with snap spring causes the changeover position to be reached before the moving contact (27) is engaged. It operates an elliptical cutout (25) in a plane parallel to the contact arm (5).
