High wear traveller for ring-spinning and twisting - comprising high modulus, low friction resin and fibrous carbon whiskers

Traveller comprises a high modulus, low friction resin (I) blended with a fibrous carbon whisker material. (I) is an acetal, polystyrene, AS, ABS, polycarbonate, polyphenylene sulphide, nylon or thermoplastic polyester. Compsn. may also contain 1-20 pref. 5-15% lubricant, e.g. MoS2, Si or a fluoropolymer, esp. PTFE. The wear life is 6-8 times that of conventional travellers. The travellers may be used in the textile or tyre industry.
