Inductive flowmeter for open channels or partly filled pipes - generates magnetic field in flow cross=section and measures its effects on moving particles

The flowmeter has a magnet system generating a magnetic field in the flow cross-section, and at least two electrodes covered by the flowing liq. The magnet system consists of at least three electromagnets (11-13). Currents in at least two electromagnets (12, 13) are so controlled, that for each liq. level the product of the magnetic field strength by a specified value is constant at all points of the flow cross-section. The specified value gives the effect which a particle moving in the magnetic field has on the voltage at the electrodes (E1, E2-E5).
