The arrangement uses a hollow mandrel or drum, with a number of machined sections (5) along the circumference. The machined sections consist of flats, which are parallel to the centre-line of the drum and which have a shoulder at one side. T-shaped clamps (4) are mounted in the drum between two flat sections so that the T piece can force two workpieces (1) against the locating shoulders of the flat sections and clamp them in position. If the mandrel is clamped in a chuck, the workpieces can be machined at one end. If it is mounted between centres, the work can be machined at both ends.
