A flanged nipple projects outwards through a hole in one of the two plates forming a radiator or solar radiation collector, and a tee socket forming a joint fitting screws on to this. The bore of the nipple is angular to take a socket spanner, and the outer end of the socket is closed by a cap with a similar recess. The contact faces have grooves for sealing rings. The need for a welding operation when the radiators are assembled on site is thus eliminated, saving time and money.
